Devyn Scott

ARTISTIC DIRECTOR/OWNER

Devyn is a young artist with a passion for teaching dance.

She began dancing at age two and trained in various styles. By age 7 she entered the competition world and discovered a love for performing. Over the last 15 years Devyn has competed in several styles and won countless awards and overalls in Contemporary, Hip-hop, Lyrical, and Jazz. She was also recognized by several adjudicators for her exceptional strength and endurance level. Devyn graduated high-school with a Red Seal on her diploma as a Specialized High Skills Major in Health and Wellness as well as certification as a Level 1 personal trainer.

Devyn has been teaching dance for 6 years and has trained various ages in many styles. She loves teaching even the youngest studio dancers and helps them develop a love of dance just as soon as they can walk. Devyn teaches toddlers, teenagers and everything in between. She has brought her unique, innovative teaching and choreography skills to several teaching gigs and has received a great response from both students and parents. Devyn believes that strength and technique are of equal importance to develop and nurture a successful dance foundation. She has a great interest in Kinesiology and believes an understanding of the body is essential to safe and successful training. She has participated in the Jumpstart Dance Intensive Teacher Training and looks forward to continuing to expand her teaching knowledge. She believes continuous learning is important to provide her kids with current, innovative teaching, technique and choreography.

Devyn strives to create an inclusive studio environment, with great training and lots of fun. Having a “family feel” is extremely important to Devyn and she looks forward to building and nurturing this type of environment for dancers of all ages and abilities.

Tracy Scott-Lopers

ADMINISTRATOR / OWNER

Tracy Scott-Lopers has been working and volunteering with children since the age of thirteen. She has been an Educational Assistant with the DDSB for over 30 years working with special needs children. Tracy has also taught and coached kids in activities such as track and field, line dancing, Ukrainian dancing, and baseball. She is especially proud of her role as a coordinator in the annual Abilities Track and Field Meet within the DDSB, as well as, her role in starting inclusive dance and movement classes for children with special needs and taking them to Xtreme Dance Champions competition.

Playing the role of dedicated Dance Mom for over 17 years, she volunteered for most of those years in and around the dance studios her daughters danced at. Tracy also worked the front desk and was responsible for much of the administrative work.

Tracy is super excited to be a part of her daughter, Devyn’s dream of owning and operating her own dance studio. As administrator of Mercury Dance Academy Ltd she feels blessed to be a part of a professional, and family friendly studio where dancers are taught with respect, love and encouragement!
